we stand in
solidarity

Our COVID-19 contribution
We created this page to inform our partners as well as interested companies and NGOs about how our online mentoring software can support during and after COVID-19. Together, we want to help those affected by isolation and connect people. True to our motto: Changing the World - One on One!

OUR MISSION

”This crisis hits the heart of our founding motivation: We built our online mentoring software to connect people in meaningful, digital relationships – regardless where they are or where they are from. Now more than ever, we want to use our software and expertise to stand in solidarity and create unity.”
Volunteer Vision Founder Team

1. Our support offer for corporates

Based on interviews with our corporate partners and extensive research, we developed four tailored online mentoring programs for the diversity & inclusion, talent development and corporate volunteering sectors which connect people most affected by the COVID-19 crisis. We want to support companies to keep their mentoring and volunteering activities up and running and find alternatives to cancelled or postponed offline measures.

Corporate Kids

Challenge: As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, a significant proportion of the workforce has moved to work from home. In some regions, moreover, schools are closed and educational programs for young people are not accessible. Many families are overwhelmed by this situation and need support.

Solution: Our Corporate Kids program connects corporate volunteers with their colleagues' kids who have limited access to educational programs. This way, working parents get a bit of relief and young people get exciting insights into their parents' companies, support with their employability as well as self-organization skills.

Scope: The program consists of 5 sessions, one-hour each and is conducted entirely online. Available languages are German, English and Spanish.

Mom Boss

Challenge: Studies show that women are more likely than men to say their professional lives have been disrupted because of the COVID-19. Working mothers are especially effected, taking on more childcare and other household responsibilities, and are therefore finding it more difficult to progress in their careers.

Solution:
Our leadership mentoring program for working moms connects leaders within organizations with their colleagues who are mothers. Mothers who participate are looking to pursue their leadership ambitions while working from home or being burdened with additional family responsibilities. The program sessions focus on topics like communication, networking, presentations and other leadership skills.

Scope:
The program consists of 6 sessions, one-hour each and is conducted entirely online. Available languages are German and English.

NGO Emergency

Challenge: NGOs, their volunteer structures and their social beneficiaries are strongly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. For the most part, existing programs cannot take place due to their dependence on social proximity.

Solution:
Our NGO Emergency program connects corporate volunteers with beneficiaries of NGOs affected by COVID-19. Companies can either support a NGO of our existing network or register their existing NGO partners to sign up their beneficiaries. The focus of the program is to support youth in their employability skills and help them stay engaged throughout this crisis.

Scope: The program consists of 5 sessions, one-hour each and is conducted entirely online. Available languages are German, English and Spanish.

Remote Boss

Challenge: An unprecedentedly high number of employees are currently working from home. Studies show that employees who are working from home feel often less engaged with their employer as well as colleagues. Employees are further struggling to demonstrate their leadership aspirations and find it harder to plan their future career, especially while access to on-site training and development programs is limited.

Solution:
Our leadership mentoring program for remote workers connects employees with leadership experience (and preferably a track record of remote working) with colleagues who are currently working remotely. The program sessions focus on topics like digital communication, networking remotely, online presentations and other leadership skills.

Scope:
The program consists of 6 sessions, one-hour each and is conducted entirely online. Available languages are German and English.

2. Our support offer for NGOs

We have been contacted by hundreds of NGOs looking for digital solutions for their social beneficiaries. In this crisis, NGOs in particular have less access to their usual pool of volunteers, find it difficult to find meaningful educational programs for their beneficiaries, and have fewer financial resources available. In response to these hurdles, we have decided to make our online mentoring solution available free of charge to NGOs that support young people in all aspects of employability and career orientation.

3. Our WEBINAR offer for everyone

Since founding Volunteer Vision over 4 years ago, we have served thousands of mentors and mentees in our digital mentoring programs. 100% of our users are participating entirely online, over 60% out of their homes. We now want to share all of our learnings and expertise with all of you to empower others to connect digitally in meaningful ways during and after this crisis. To pass on this knowledge, we have set up a webinar series in which we will be addressing a wide variety of topics in the coming weeks and months. With this approach, we want to contribute to achieving the “new normal” of digital collaboration more quickly and efficiently, ensuring that we all come out of this crisis having learned and developed as a global community.
